Executive Council: Executive Director

Stephen Abreu is our founding executive director. In his day to day, he serves as a partner at Cooley LLP’s San Francisco Office. He focuses on structuring and negotiating complex intellectual property and commercial transactions for life sciences companies, including strategic collaborations, cross-border transactions, and co-development, license and manufacturing agreements. 

Executive Council: Director of Operations

Anthony has more than 20 years of technical & leadership experience in the US Military and most recently held positions as a CFO and a COO of a $55-million-dollar eCommerce conglomerate. Donahue has a medical science degree from Harvard Medical School and a diploma in diplomatic studies from the University of Oxford.

Executive Council: Director of New Programs

Johanna is Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences Capital Markets at NYSE Group, part of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. In this role, she advises healthcare and life sciences companies, private equity and venture capital firms, and investment banks on IPO readiness, capital markets strategy, and listing venue selection. Previously, she served as Head of Healthcare at GLG, where she led the U.S. healthcare practice. Johanna holds a PhD and MS in Organic Chemistry from Yale University and a BS in Chemistry from Florida International University.

Executive Council: Director of Content & Volunteer Programming

Megan is a second-generation Filipino American and Senior Director of Growth for the Genomic Newborn Screening business at GeneDx, where she leads commercial strategy to advance genomic screening for rare disease. With over a decade of experience across precision medicine, molecular diagnostics, and commercial strategy, she focuses on building and scaling innovative programs that expand access and improve patient outcomes.

Executive Council: Director of Community Engagement

Willie is a senior biopharma executive with experience in public engagement, business strategy, and product development, including leadership roles in AI-enabled regenerative medicine biomanufacturing.

Previously, he served as Chief Business Strategy Innovation Officer at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), where he led development of the BIO One-on-One Partnering™ platform and directed BIO Business Solutions, generating over $620M in annual sales.

Kenza works closely with our Executive Council, with a focus on operations, social content, and community events.

A recent graduate of UCLA and a current researcher at Stanford, Kenza brings a fresh perspective and a deep commitment to advancing our mission. She is a proud Moroccan American and passionate about representation, storytelling, and impact.

Volunteer Team, Social Content Lead

Saiyuri is an undergraduate at the University of Washington, studying Biochemistry and Data Science. She brings a dynamic, interdisciplinary perspective and a strong commitment to innovation, representation, and meaningful change in science and business.
